HIRC Services

Currently our services are available only to persons affiliated with Tobago Healthcare Services. Services may be requested by telephone or in person.

REFERENCE

We provide assistance to users with the selection and use of resources available at HIRC and on the Internet. Please contact us to submit your service request.

CURRENT AWARENESS

We research and provide periodic updates on health-related issues, training programmes and research projects for TRHA.

RAPID INFORMATION RESEARCH

We provide a special rush service for information requests related to urgent clinical care. This service includes research of Internet databases and resources as well as photocopy and delivery of selected documents.

DOCUMENT DELIVERY

We use CISTI (Canadian Institute for Scientific and Technical Information) and other Internet-based resources to obtain copies of documents unavailable in the HIRC collection. Fees for this service are the responsibility of the requester.

TRAINING FOR USE OF INTERNET HEALTHCARE RESOURCES

We offer introductory sessions to provide users with the basic skills for searching primary healthcare databases and other resources on the Internet. Separate sessions can be organised for users who need an introduction to use of the PC and Internet.
